Submissions to the 1st annual Outdoor Leadership Program Symposium (OLPS) are now being accepted. OLPS is intended to provide a forum for practitioners and scholars to share issues and tips for programs in the outdoor field. The symposium will be held in conjunction with the International Conference on Outdoor Leadership, sponsored annually by the Wilderness Education Association (WEA).
The goal of this symposium is to help promote the development of quality programs in the field of outdoor recreation. Submissions will be blind peer-reviewed and judged according to their relevance to the field of outdoor recreation as well as the basic quality of the program and information being presented. Practitioners will have ten minutes to present their program, followed by five minutes of Q&A.
Eligibility of proposals:
Organizations with the desire to share innovative ideas for maintaining a successful program from their organization’s experience.
Practitioners, with accepted proposals, must register for the conference by the early registration deadline. Any presenter who fails to do so will be removed from the OLPS' schedule. Please do not submit a presentation outline unless you are committed to attending the symposium.
Presentation outline must be submitted by November 5, 2010.
Practitioners will be notified by December 17, 2010 regarding the status of their submissions.
Practitioners must submit revised presentation outline and actual presentation slides (via email) by January 17, 2011.
Practitioners will be provided with an A/V screen, laptop (PC), and flipchart presentation.
Outlines that do not adhere to guidelines may be rejected without further review.
