Service Crew Application

Joining the Service Crew is an opportunity available to all individuals registered to attend the WEA International Conference on Outdoor Leadership. 
 
 The purpose of the Service Crew is three-fold:
 
1) Provide conference attendees a way to attend the conference at a deeply discounted rate
2) Provide necessary support for the conference coordinators to run the event smoothly
3) Provide an opportunity for conference attendees to network and gain practical experience within the context of event operations.
 
 
Service Crew members are expected to: 
  • contribute between of 8 and 16 hours of service to the conference between Saturday, February 18 and Tuesday, February 21.  
  • pre-register and pre-pay for the full conference (Feb 19-21)
  • attend a mandatory service crew meeting at 7:30 am on the mornings you are assigned to work.  
  • work at least one shift during workshop time.
  • maintain professional presence, service and support while 'on duty'
 
Service Crew Applications will be considered complete when the WEA National Office has received this form submission along with registration and payment.  We will do our best to accomodate all individuals who submit Service Crew applications however applications will be capped if necessary and priority may be given based on availability, schedule flexibility, and areas of interest.

Arrival at the Conference*

Departure from the Conference*

Availability for Saturday, February 18*
Saturday we will primarily need assistance in the evening doing set up in the exhibitor hall and making sure signage is up around the facility so folks know where to go. Manual labor, organizing and setting up with aesthetic and function in mind will be key!
Availability for Sunday, February 19*
Sunday morning is focused on registration and welcoming attendees to the conference. The afternoon will require assistance in the Research Symposium, Program Symposium and Student Workshops. With the welcome social in the evening, and folks operating the WEA store, we need lots of help from early in the morning through the evening's events!
Availability for Monday, February 20*
Monday morning we will need support for morning workshop sessions and afternoon committee/colloquium meetings. We will also need WEA store assistance throughout the day as well as a little help for the evening banquet dinner, awards, and keynote.
Availability for Tuesday, February 21*
Wednesday is workshop tracks all day! We will need assistance for morning and afternoon sessions. We will also need morning help with setting up the Auction and Raffle items in Assembly Hall. In the evening we will need help running the acution and Raffle as well as with take-down/clean up after the Auction and Raffle. Many hands make light work and it will be a long and awesome day!
