Details for "WEA Instructor Training Clinic"

The WEA Instructor Training Clinic is a required component of becoming a Certifying (NSP/ WSP) Instructor for the WEA. The ITC is designed to give instructors a common background in four areas:

WEA History
Teaching and Learning Philosophy
Course Planning & Management
Liaison with the National Office

Each student must bring a copy of the 2nd Edition of the Backcountry Classroom. Books will be available for purchase on site or you can purchase one ahead of time from the WEA National Office.

Comments

The ITC is intended for people already on the WEA instructor path. Students must have their WEA Outdoor Leader Certification prior to the beginning of the course to be admitted. There will be no exceptions. Registrants who are not Certified Outdoor Leaders will be removed from the course and refunded their registration fees.

Informational sessions (WEA 101) will be available during the regular conference for those looking for an introduction to WEA courses, curriculum and structure.
