Details for "25-day Wilderness Expedition: The Value of Outdoor Leadership"
The Ohio University Recreation Studies program is sponsoring a 25-day Wilderness Education Association National Standard Program course designed to teach students the value, knowledge and skills required for effective outdoor leadership. Successful completion of the course results in outdoor leadership certification. The expedition will include backpacking in West Virginia and Sea Kayaking on the North Carolina shore. Beyond developing activity skills, educational skills, and human relation skills, the course will also focus on personal and social values.
$2100 course fee. The course fee covers the following: transportation from Ohio University (Athens, OH) to course sites, food in the field, lodging and campground fees in field, group equipment, some personal outfitting, maps and field journal, WEA certification and benefits.
