Intermediate Ice Climbing
If you enjoy ice climbing but know your technique could be better, this one-day course is just the thing. Our guides will get you on the steeps, pinpoint your strengths and weaknesses, and offer specific, personalized techniques to help you avoid the dreaded vertical icepump.

Prerequisites
· Already know how to belay, put on a harness and crampons properly
· Have ice climbed before in the past
· Ability to spend a full day out in the mountains
· Generally fit
Course Time: 8:00am – 4:00pm
Forms: Individuals must have a waiver filled out. See CMS Waiver attachment. Please bring this waiver with you and give it to the guide.
Course includes: All the technical gear needed for the outing (i.e. harness, helmet, boots, crampons, ice tools, etc.)
Course doesn’t include: Food*, water, transportation, individual’s soft goods (i.e. pants, jacket, gloves, etc.)
*A bag lunch will be provided for those staying at the YMCA of the Rockies and will be available for pick up in the Longs Peak Lobby at 7:30am
Transportation to and from CMS and the trailhead is not included. Please meet in the lobby of Longs Peak Lodge at 7:30am to pick up your bagged lunch and self-arrange carpool to CMS.
