We are pleased to announce that the 2008 National Conference on Outdoor Leadership will be held February 12-16 in San Diego, California. The Bahia Resort and Hotel, the venue for 2008, provides a beautiful setting with waterfront access within a few minutes walk. The Bahia is located on a 14 acre peninsula on Mission Bay providing a variety of opportunities for workshops and pre-conference events. So put away those ice climbing tools and skis, you won't be needing them this year!
The theme, "Connecting with Nature" is inspired by the latest book by Author and Keynote Speaker, Richard Louv. Titled "Last Child in the Woods: Saving our Children from Nature-Deficit Disorder" Louv provides a compelling argument to the positive and enduring affects of exposing children to the natural world.
The Conference Committee is working diligently to make this conference bigger and better than ever. For this goal to become a reality though we need your help! Please pass this message and the website links to other professionals and students that would benefit from attending the conference. If you are interested in presenting or conducting a pre-conference workshop, please click here for the posted calls.
The website, www.weainfo.org, is currently updated with 2008 conference information and important dates. Please check it often as we will continue to post new and exciting news and updates about the conference.
See you in San Diego!
