AORE Call for Proposals

On behalf of the Association for Outdoor Recreation and Education, the 2008 AORE Conference Host and Presentation Relations Committee are now accepting workshop proposals for the International Conference-A Climate for Change, October 30th to November 1st, 2008 in San Diego, CA! While the AORE Conference is loaded with keynotes, technical training and other events and activities, workshops are its foundation. Through them, attendees and presenters alike leave the conference with professional development and energy to delve deeper into their practice.

We hope that you will help us fulfill our mission of expanding outdoor recreation and education’s reach and effectiveness by sharing what you know with others. Submitting a proposal is easy! Whether you’d like to present on current research in the outdoor industry, develop our student members, create an opportunity for professional development, provide a venue for collaboration and brainstorming, or have some fun with facilitation, your presentation will make this conference a success. If you have a workshop or program you would like to provide but need more time to present or offer certification in areas such as WFR/WFA, the Pre/Post Conference Workshops may be the ideal setting for your presentation.

Who presents at the AORE international conference?

  • Professionals-young and seasoned professionals from university, community, military, and private recreation programs, schools and companies
  • Students-Graduate and Undergraduates from college and university non-credit recreational programs and degree granting programs
  • Academics and faculty
  • Outdoor leaders, teachers, guides, instructors, facilitators, experiential educators
  • Vendors and manufacturers
  • Public land and recreation managers
  • Lawyers and risk managers

Please visit the website at www.aore.org/conference/proposals for further information regarding the submission process. The website provides detailed information regarding the conference theme and focus areas, details about the review process, and the opportunity to submit your proposal online. We look forward to a great conference in San Diego and encourage you to present!
