Buck Tilton has authored or co-authored 26 books.  His book, Wilderness First Responder, received an award for excellence from the American Medical Writers Association. More than 1,000 magazine articles have appeared with his byline, and he has written a column for Backpacker since 1989.  He has been honored with the Warren Bowman Award for contributions to wilderness medicine.  He co-founded the Wilderness Medicine Institute of NOLS and travels around the world teaching.
