Together we share a passion for the outdoors. When you join the WEA, you are a part of a community committed to the development of professional outdoor leaders and educators. We support each other through standards, training, education, research, and discounts. Since 1977, the association has pursued the vision of developing an educational organization that would train leaders in the skills and good judgment necessary to lead and teach in the proper use of wilderness areas.
The WEA network spans across 45 countries and through a variety of professions within the outdoor industry. To support the WEA is to invest in the future of outdoor leadership as an industry, as a profession, and as a catalyst for the stewardship of wilderness and outdoor spaces.
